You are what you ate
Cancer rates are predicted to rise 50% by the year 2020 across the globe! [1]
The really sad thing about this is that it is preventable! Almost 35 years ago, researchers Doll and Peto [2] suggested that diet likely accounted for about
30% of the risk of developing cancer. Since then, a wealth of evidence has pointed to the ability of multiple dietary components to modify cancer development and progression.
World Cancer Research Fund and American Institute of Cancer Research Report [3] concluded, on the basis of reviewing thousands of published articles, that diet contributes significantly to cancers worldwide.
This begs the question. If so much cancer is preventable, why don’t we make simple changes to our lifestyle now? Why do we wait until its too late??!
